SAFETY RECALL FOR SNOWY RIVER CARAVANS

August 24, 2026 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google+ Public Service Announcement.

Risk of gas leak and possible explosion for thousands of late-model imported caravans

Big-selling caravan company, Regent RV is conducting a voluntary product safety recall of gas pressure regulators installed on certain models of its Snowy River and NewGen caravan range, sold in both Australia and New Zealand.

Regent RV said a manufacturing defect in the internal diaphragm on the RV-One (DJYF1001-1 model) gas pressure regulator fitted to affected ‘vans can lead to a gas leak, which poses a risk of fire, explosion or asphyxiation if gas is built up in an enclosed area and can lead to serious injury or death.

The compact two-stage metal regulator is mounted on the A-frame at the front of the ‘van, between the gas cylinders and the body and is connected to the cylinders by flexible pigtail hoses.

The affected Snowy River and NewGen caravans number in the thousands, and were built from May 31, 2024 to January 26, 2026. The Chinese-made caravans, pop-tops and hybrids which receive final fit-out and compliance checks at Regent’s Melbourne facility, were sold at 15 dealers around Australia and one in New Zealand.
