THIS CUSTOM BUILT, LUXURY HORSE TRUCK ALLOWS YOU TO TRAVEL GREAT DISTANCES WITH EASE
FEATURES:
- The objective was to build a float that allowed the team to travel great distances with ease and to surround themselves with an environment that is both generous and luxurious such that any campaign anywhere and for any length of time would be welcomed
- At the same time, systems and equipment had to be of such quality and design to provide reliability and absolute ease-of-use
- Achieving this means this rig is truly ‘one of a kind’
DRIVING:
- The Scania P380 cab and 6×2 chassis (44,000 km) with Opticruise gearbox and full air-bag suspension means the truck carries its load with ease over its 1,200 km range
- Simply put, every safety option and every ease-of-driveability aide possible was selected and installed into this 2019 new build
- Comfort is assured in the Sleeper cab (allowing 2-up driving) with top-of-the-line air-suspension seats, climate control, central fridge and full entertainment system
RIDING:
- Drawing on Southern Cross Float’s vast experience in building long-distance and premium transporters, this truck provides ample room for campaigning with 4 large horses
- Space, airflow, monitoring systems, generous feed and tack storage, portable yards, hot & cold wash-down, icebox etc etc means the horses arrive fresh to events and stay that way
LIVING:
- Themed around a ‘beach-side chic’ motif (with timber plank flooring, painted T&G ceilings and Corian style benchtops throughout) with living spaces that are all oversized to make living on-board for weeks at a time a breeze
- The three sleeping quarters (Queen in Luton, Double midships – both with custom pocket-sprung mattresses) and the Scania private sleeper-cab assure a rested sleep for up to five
- Water management has been engineered to allow long periods off-grid with 500L of Fresh, 250L of Grey and the kitchen supply mechanically filtered and UV treated
- Separate but linkable toilet, shower and change room rival facilities at home – even down to the heated towel rail and an ‘unlimited’ hot water supply!
- The kitchen is simply a cook’s dream – all European appliances designed for domestic use including steam oven, gas hobs, 403L fridge, separate 86L freezer, twin stone basins and pantry
- Entertaining is covered with a 4-seat dining table along with two leather (electric) recliners set up to enjoy the oversized Samsung TV and Bose sound-system
- And when you have to clean up, the European domestic-grade dishwasher and 10 kg washing machine handle things with whisper-quiet ease
- All this takes a lot of energy but the 8 KVA Onan genset, 3 KVA pure sine-wave inverter, and large deep-cycle batteries and chargers provide all that is needed and then some – whether on the road or parked up off-the-grid
